We made it down to the Aeolian Islands, off the north coast of Sicily. Today we explored Salina on scooters with a stop at a wicked beach with some wicked little medusa (jellyfish). One got dad on the leg, but he wouldn't pee on it to help the stinging. The sea's so clear here and it's so hot that swimming is always the best thing to do and jellyfish just complicate things. Yesterday we watched Stromboli, the most active volcano in Italy, erupt at night, shooting rocks down into the sea below.
Dad's getting tired. Mom's ready to ride some more scooters! We're leaving the islands tomorrow and headed back north to finish the trip.
