Day 1: -20 Degrees on that mountain
Yeah, with the windchill it was about -20 on Keystone.
Snow blowing in your face, fingers freezing off... cold.
We got up at the crack of dawn to drive 2.5 hours on an icy snowy road with traffic. We made it. Brad said he was surprised.
Took an expensive lunch break by the fireplace to get some feeling back in our extremeties.
We went up one peak where it was like a blizzard, just freezing and windy and snowing. Corrine and I got stuck on some moguls, so we just decided to sit there for a while and talk. We were the last people on that side of the mountain so we just lounged in the middle of the run.
I made everyone stay out way longer than they wanted to because, first of all, I wasn't ready to quit. It too much fun. Second, I lost my phone... somewhere. It just wasn't in my pocket anymore and I hadn't seen it in about 3 hours. I finished up, met up with everyone down at the coffee shop and Risa said "Some guy has your phone! He said to meet him at the ski lift in 15 minutes." Long story short, I spent 30 minutes at the ski lift yelling "TIM!" Tim got lost. About 30 minutes after that we finally met up with the 2 craziest old brothers who were obviously drunk, but happy to be alive. Tim said he ran over with his skis and that his brother was trying to use it to call his girlfriend in Thailand!
We were completely exhausted, drove Corrine home then back to Denver. Brad and I went out for Tokyo Joe's Japanese takeout.
Day2: 5:30am! Sunny day!
We drug Brad out of bed for day 2 of skiing! Clear skies, sun shining, 30 degrees on the mountain. Perfect.
Brad couldn't wait to make the drive all the way back to Keystone.
After jamming Justin Timberlake and lil' Wayne, we were ready to do it all over again.
We got in early, the slopes weren't full and the snow was incredible.
We did a few more runs back to the front and called it a day, and what a day it was. Maybe I'll come back next weekend.
